Nykaa buys Superstore.co.in and Superstore.in before IPO

Domain Sale (.IN /.CO.IN) India - In July, Nykaa Fashion based in Mumbai India, acquired  Superstore.co.in  and  Superstore.in  domain names for their future projects. (see  Namebio.com ) Interestingly Nykaa is also in Pre IPO stage and is filing papers. Startups, New Business and Established Businesses in India as a strategy are looking to acquire .in and . co.in  domain names for their specific projects, divisions, product or service categories and this makes all the sense , if you compare to what global companies have done in terms of acquiring generic/exact match domain names in .com . When you are looking to target a large growing economy/market such as India, it makes strategic business sense to go with the domain extensions that the country market has already accepted for over almost 19 years. Businesses may already own their brand names (.in and . co.in ) but they operate in various product/service categories that require focussed domain names, that are non-brandable or popul

.IN and .CO.IN doing quite well among Startups in 2021

https://jamesnames.com/2021/06/data-driven-what-domains-did-startups-use-in-q1-of-2021/ The first quarter of 2021, running from January 1 to March 31, saw 1,154 new companies, solo ventures, or projects added to the Crunchbase database. This isn’t a particularly interesting stat on its own — every quarter, thousands of companies spring into life. What might be interesting, though, is the domain names that those companies founded in Q1 of 2021 are using. Fortunately, Crunchbase shares this data, so I’ve compiled a list of domains from the dataset that we can take a look at. Of the 1,154 companies, 106 either didn’t have a domain name listed, or the domain was erroneous, so couldn’t be counted. That leaves us with 1,048 domains to analyze.   TLDs Out of those 1,048 domains, 112 different domain extensions were used. This does not count ccTLD variations such as .CO.UK and .UK or .CO.IN and .IN, for example, these are merged into one TLD for the purpose of this article. Of those 112 domai

VanInsurance.co.uk sold for higher than .com

Today Godaddy released their aftermarket sales for June, it showed vaninsurance.co.uk sold for $106,769 and vaninsurance.com for $100,000 . This is probably the first time have noticed a . co.uk sell for higher than .com . This could have reasons such as . co.uk had a less motivated seller and he/she was in a better situation to assess the Van Insurance market . Also here in the US, we don't hear much of Van Insurance but its possibly a bigger deal in the UK. So once again, pricing and valuation of such cctlds (country code extensions) like . co.uk , .in / .co.in or .de and others are going to on a case by case basis. Typical cctlds valuation can range from 5%-25% of .com, but this again a very rough estimate as this sale shows. #domains #domainnames #india #. co.uk #websites #business #branding #marketing #ecommerce #atmanirbarta #inc42 #startup #.in #.co.in
